I got these mostly to place on the counter underneath our coffee station to help with grip and to make spills easier to deal with. It's an electric moka pot, so not a very big area. I really only needed one at a time, but figured it would be nice to have two si O can always have one clean and one in the washer, but now I keep finding other uses for the "extra" one... these are super versatile! These are made of silicone, so they're heat-resistant, stain-resistant, and flexible. They have one textured side and one smooth side. The texture is the letter H over and over, which a family member with an H name thought was very funny, so bonus points if you're thinking of getting this as a gift for someone with an initial "H".These are just about the size of a sheet of standard letter paper -- a little narrower with gabled ends. This shape seems to help it not form suction with the cutting board, which was a problem I had previously with one of these grippy pads. These are super easy-to-clean -- nothing sticks to them -- and it helps keep our counter from getting stained with whatever dyes might be in syrups or whatever we are doing in that area. It had been *so hard* to keep sugar from getting stuck and dried on the counter in that area of the kitchen -- you know what a pain it can be when something hets stuck to the counter really good. You can't exactly just pick the counter up and put it in the washer, but you can with this. Some of the many things I've used this for over the past week:As a counter liner for underneath the area of our coffee station where we pour and sweeten. As a desk blotter for a hot glue gun!!!As a grippy pad to help me open a jar of jelly (my grip is not the strongest)As a trivet for a hot dish(And -- of course -- as a cutting board anti-slip pad. It's absolutely *fantastic* for that!)I chose the green color -- it is a bright, light, saturated slightly yellow green color somewhere between a celery and a matcha color.
